Royal Palace guard / Heretic Legionnaire

The Empire has been corrupted from within, and the emperor's brother has usurped him. The princess, along with her loyal bodyguard and an heirloom, flees the wrath of her uncle. The palace guard, which had once kept her safe, now lurk around every corner, seeking to destroy all who would dethrone their new master.

Final rendering and design, had a lot of fun and cant wait to do more!

Here are a lot of alternate headdresses that came up in the end, a couple of them broke the Roman legion-esque design.

I took a lot of inspiration from Eduardo Gonzalez that designed the Demacia knights in League of Legends, and borrowed his pose.

I finally started using reference for my poses at this stage and chose a difficult angle, thankfully though it helped me with the final pose

I got a lot of help from my friend Lloyde, Jason, and Rob at this stage. I was trying to make these wings on the shoulders work, but realized they weren't as necessary. I really liked the top of the helmet shape and wanted to work with that

early phases of the process i really liked the idea of the red under garb and this wedge like center.
